The event began with a tree-planting drive in and around the campus. Participants were provided with saplings, and under the guidance of environmental experts, they planted various species of trees.
Following the tree planting drive, the association conducted a Pencil Drawing Competition. The theme of the competition was “Nature and Conservation,” which allowed students to express their artistic talents while highlighting the beauty and importance of the nature..
The event also featured a special session titled “Basheer: An Eco-literary Tribute”. This segment paid homage to the famous Malayalam writer Vaikom Muhammad Basheer, who often depicted themes of nature and the environment in his works. Professors and students took turns reading excerpts from his stories and discussing how his writing reflects the importance of living in harmony with nature. This tribute highlighted the intersection between literature and environmental consciousness.
The final event of the day was Ecocraft: A Creative Upcycling Workshop, where participants were taught how to repurpose waste materials into useful or decorative items. Guided by experienced artisans, the attendees learned how to create eco-friendly products such as recycled paper, plant holders made from old bottles, and decorative items using discarded materials.
