Quaesitio (IN QUEST OF FUTURE SCIENTISTS)


QUAESITIO 2019-20

The Research Cell in association with the IQAC of the college, has taken a number of initiatives to augment a research culture among the staff and students. The IQAC introduced ‘Quaesitio’ (paper presentation competition) in 2019 for the benefit of the staff and students. The programme focused on providing opportunities to students and faculty to present their research outcome with the intention of scaling greater heights in the domain of research. The discussion with the panel of judges was followed by a peer group discussion to enhance research culture. Initially, ‘Quaesitio’ was meant for the students and faculty of the college alone. The publication of the proceedings of QUAESITIO 2019-20, (ISBN: 978-81-930000-7-6) further enriched the research ambience. The success of the event encouraged the Research Cell to organize the program at a national-level in the coming years.


QUAESITIO 2020-21

During the time of the Covid-19 pandemic, the programme was hosted online. In ‘Quaesitio 2020’, abstracts were invited from students who had completed/ would be completing their courses, from colleges and universities across the country. Participants from the length and breadth of the nation were shortlisted and invited to present their work online. Applicants whose abstracts  had been shortlisted were invited to present their projects. The final online presentation was held subject wise through Google  meet. Inauguration ceremony was on 2 nd November 2020. Dr. R. Pragash, Deputy Director, Collegiate Education Kottayam was the Chief Guest. The disciplines on which final round competitions held were English, Economics, Malayalam, Life Sciences,  Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Commerce & Management and Computer Sciences. The power point, presentation  style, relevance of topic, knowledge & expertise, and answering of questions were the areas on which the participants had  been judged. Well qualified academicians from different parts of the country were included in the judgement panel. Prof. Babu  Raj P.T, DCDC, MG University, Kottayam was the resource person in the valedictory function on 9th November 2020.

An extended version of the project abstracts selected by the panel of experts was published in the Proceedings of QUAESITIO 2020-21 ISBN: 978-81-930000-6-9. The milestone to foster the research aptitude and presentation talents in students was a great success.


QUAESITIO 2021-22

Inauguration of QUAESITIO 2021-22 was held on 10 th March 2022 associated with DCDC Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam  and sponsored by PTA of the college. It was organised as National Conference on Research Methodology in various disciplines. Paper Presentation Competition was conducted in two categories, viz. a) Faculty & Research Scholars b) UG &PG  Students (Including those who completed the course in 2021) in various disciplines of Arts, Science, Commerce &  Management.
