How to Apply

Option 1

You submit the duly filled in application form in person along with Rs. 150 for Management / Community Quota and Rs. 50 for Sports/Cultural/PH Quota directly to the College office.

Option 2

Print the application form, fill-in the required details completely, affix recent color passport size photo and send it to the following address along with a demand draft of Rs. 150 for Management / Community Quota and Rs. 50 for Sports/Cultural/PH Quota made in favor of

The Principal, St. Stephen’s College”,

payable at SBI, Uzhavoor Branch so as to reach on or before last date.Students should write their name and telephone number behind the DD. 

In case you choose the option 2, then you will receive the confirmation by email/SMS after the College receives your filled Application Form along with DD through Registered Post/Courier/Speed Post or by hand at the following address :

Candidate should send two selfaddressed Post Card along with the application in the manner indicated above.

The envelope must be subscribed with the words 'APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION PG – 2017’.

Last Date of receiving of  Application Form at the Office is according to the notification and announcements of the MG University.

Candidates are requested to visit the official website of the University www.cap.mgu.ac.in for notification and announcements. The prospectus is subject to modification/addition/deletion as may be deemed necessary by the University.

Checklist of documents enclosed:

 

  1. Duly completed application form with photograph
  2. Demand Draft for Rs. 150/- for Management / Community Quota and Rs. 50 for Sports/Cultural/PH Quota drawn in favour of “The Principal, St. Stephen’s College”, payable at Uzhavoor payable at SBI, Uzhavoor Branch, Kottayam (Only for Option 2)
  3. Two self addressed Post Cards
  4. Self attested copies of mark lists of the Plus Two / equivalent examinations.
  5. Self attested copies of certificates to prove claims based on reservation (caste), Children of ex-service personnel, etc.
  6. Self attested copies of relevant page of SSLC to prove age and date of birth.
  7. Candidates who wish to avail of bonus/weightage of marks  for NSS/NCC shall produce the self attested copies of  relevant certificates.
  8. Caste certificate in the case of SC/ST candidates.

Details of seats that come under the ambit of Centralised Allotment Process (CAP):

i.                     Govt. Colleges: Total seats available in government colleges except seats under sports/cultural/PD Quota

ii.                   Aided Colleges: Open quota seats, seats earmarked for SC/ST candidates

iii.                  Unaided Colleges/ Unaided programmes conducted in Aided Colleges: 50% of the total seats including seats reserved for SC/ST/SEBC

iv.                 The remaining seats under community quota (Aided Colleges only)/management quota (Aided and Unaided Colleges and Unaided Programmes conducted in Aided Colleges)/sports and cultural quota and persons with disabilities quota shall be filled by the colleges concerned.

The students who seek admission under Community Quota (Aided Colleges only)/Management Quota (Aided and Unaided Colleges and Unaided Programmes conducted in Aided Colleges)/Sports and Cultural Quota and Persons with Disabilities Quota category should submit their application in the colleges concerned and not through CAP.

The applicant for admission to the Sports quota should have represented at least the District Sports Zone. Preference shall be given to Sportsmen who have represented the State/University over the sportsmen who have represented the  District/College. The applicant will produce the Certificate from the Honorary Secretary of the State Association of the event concerned to prove District representation.

Bonus of 15 marks shall be awarded to applicants with NCC or NSS Certificates for admission to all programmes. In respect of NCC candidates, the bonus marks will be awarded on the basis of NCC Certificates signed by the Director and issued by the Directorate of NCC to candidates who have secured al least 75% attendance after having participated in its activities during the programme of study immediately preceding the programme for which admission is sought. An additional bonus mark of 3 will be given to ‘A’ Certificate holders, 5 marks to ‘B’ Certificate holders and 5 marks to ‘C’ Certificate holders in proof of their high proficiency.

In respect of NSS candidates, the bonus marks will be awarded on the basis of NSS Certificates issued by the competent authority.

The Bonus Marks will be awarded as follows:

1. Bonus of 15 marks shall be awarded to applicants with NCC or NSS Certificates at ‘Plus Two level’ for admission to all programmes. In respect of NCC candidates, the bonus marks will be awarded on the basis of NCC Certificates signed by the Director and issued by the Directorate of NCC to candidates who have secured al least 75% attendance after having participated in its activities during the programme of study immediately preceding the programme for which admission is sought. An additional bonus mark of 3 will be given to ‘A’ Certificate holders, 5 marks to ‘B’ Certificate holders and 5 marks to ‘C’ Certificate holders in proof of their high proficiency.

2. In respect of NSS candidates, the bonus marks will be awarded on the basis of NSS Certificates issued by the competent authority.

3. Bonus of 15 marks shall be awarded to the Ex-servicemen applicants and widows and children of Jawans and Ex-servicemen seeking admission to the Degree Programmes.

Applicants to this category should invariably produce along with the application form an attested copy of certificate issued not earlier than six months from the last date of submission of application from the military authorities or state/Zilla Sainik Welfare Officer to the effect that he/she is the son/daughter of an ex-service man or an ex service man himself/herself.

The benefit of bonus marks can be scored by a candidate only under one category i.e., either NSS or NCC.

Bonus marks shall be added only if the candidate has obtained the prescribed minimum qualifying marks in the qualifying examination while calculating the index marks.
